A-Plant employee shortlisted for an International Award

Compliance Officer, Jane Downey, has been nominated in the 'Compliance Officer of the Year, Large Sized Company,' category at the fifth Women in Compliance Awards.

Jane is one of 15 women to be listed in the category and will be competing against nominees from the USA, Malaysia, Germany, Poland and Singapore.

The Annual Women in Compliance Awards attracts more than 350 compliance professionals from across the globe and celebrates the achievements of female compliance professionals.

Jane joined A-Plant's Performance Standards Team in 2015 and along with her colleagues is a vital cog in ensuring compliance across the business.

The Environmental Health and Safety team, of which Jane is aligned to, played an important role in helping A-Plant, achieve its ROSPA Gold Medal Award in 2017.

Accomplishing so much in such a short space of time has been a satisfying achievement Jane explained: "I am thrilled to have been nominated for such a prestigious award.

"Being part of such a highly committed team is amazing and really helps us to all get the company’s message across.”

Chris Ryan, Head of Performance Standards at A-Plant said the company was exceptionally proud of Jane's achievement.

“From day one, I have been impressed with Jane’s capabilities and above all, her tremendous commitment.

"She has already achieved so much; from delivering first class compliance procedural training, to supporting us in reducing accidents and minimising negative effects on the business. We’re exceptionally proud to be part of her journey."

Douglas McLuckie, Director of Risk Management adds: "Over the past year, we have run a series of campaigns which continue to ingrain a robust Health and Safety culture across the company, such as our 'Work Safe, Home Safe' initiative and Jane has been one of the key members of the team to get the message across.

"We’re well known throughout the hire and wider construction industry for our exceptional Health, Safety and Compliance practices, underlined by our multiple RoSPA awards. Jane, along with her colleagues, is instrumental in ensuring we retain these high standards.”

The winners of the Women in Compliance Awards will be announced during a glittering gala dinner at London's Sheraton Grand London Park Lane Hotel on Thursday 22nd March 2018.
